Description: Scarce 1942 All-Star Game program. Very rare original program issued for the War era game which was originally scheduled for Brooklyn's Ebbets Field and ended up being played at the larger Polo Grounds stadium in New York. The game featured several star players who would shortly put their baseball careers on hold to enter the second World War. The AL won by a score of 3-1 in a poorly attended game due to rain. The offered example remains unscored in nearly as issued condition with crisp original color and intact pages. The bottom right corner of the front cover has a small portion that has been restored: NM (with note to corner restoration)
