Description: Rare Bill Mazeroski game used baseball glove c.1956-58. Very high quality Wilson model A2054 fielder's glove as worn by Hall of Fame member Bill Mazeroski. The glove exhibits heavy usage including pocket wear and an interior leather patch. Exterior back strap is missing its original Wilson label and has been reinforced on the interior (in the period) with a piece of leather. "MAZ" written in faded black marker on the back of the pinky finger pocket remains clearly visible. By all accounts, Bill Mazeroski was one of the finest defensive second baseman in Major League history with a career .983 fielding average. His historic walk off home run in Game #7 of the 1960 World Series will forever be remembered as one of the most thrilling moments in World Series history. The offered glove has been consigned directly by Mr. Mazeroski himself with the proceeds going to the Bill Mazeroski Scholarship Fund. Per Mr. Mazeroski himself, he used very few gloves over the course of his career and we are honored to offer this fine piece to the collecting public.
