Description: Fine Joe DiMaggio portrait by Victor Freudeman c.1950. One of the more recognizable pieces within the Joe DiMaggio collection, the offered imperial size portrait depicts DiMaggio in a suit with his hand on his hip. The painting measures an impressive 35"x48" in its original natural wood frame. It was originally commissioned by Avon Products and presented to DiMaggio at Toots Shor Restaurant in 1950. Very attractive depiction of DiMaggio with excellent use of color and light creating a powerful image. The painting was prominently displayed in DiMaggio's Beach St. home for many years and includes a vintage photograph of Joe seated on a couch underneath the painting. The lot also includes a vintage photograph of Joe DiMaggio, Toots Shor, and Frank Sinatra admiring the painting at its original presentation in 1950. Condition is outstanding with no repairs or alterations retaining strong original color and surface: EX-MT
