Description: Significant Wilber "Bullet" Rogan warm up jacket attributed to the Kansas City Monarchs c.1920-30's. Very high quality heavy grey wool jacket with red and grey trim retains its original embroidered baseball shaped breast patch with "Bullet Rogan" on the front. The patch measures an impressive 8" tall. The jacket remains very clean with some light age toning and a few areas of minor surface wear. Almost certainly worn during Rogan's lengthy career with the Kansas City Monarchs spanning the 1920s and 30's. According to the Rogan family, Rogan's son, Wolbur (now deceased), was a bat boy with the Monarchs in the 1930s. Wilbur recalled that his father, while a coach, ahd received the jacket from the players on the team. Vintage Negro League related uniform objects are exceedingly rare with the offered jacket among the most substantive of its type extant. Includes letter of provenance from the Rogan family: EX
