Given the mix of signatures, it is possible that this ball was signed in 1971, the year of Paige's Hall of Fame Induction. Joe Reichler was head of the HOF's Special Committee on Negro Leagues and Monte Irvin pushed for Paige's induction while working in the commissioner's office.
