Description: Scarce Hans Wagner "King of the Diamond" baseball decorative cigar box c.1905-10. Large lidded wooden box with "King of the Diamond" engraved onto the top of the lid along with various baseball equipment. Interior lid features an ornate photographic label picturing Honus Wagner in Pittsburgh uniform surrounded by floral garniture. Wagner label is also repeated on a side apron. The interior label remains very clean with strong imagery despite a small stain and a few light surface wrinkles. Exterior has some typical age wear incl. a small repair to a 1/2" edge chip and some light surface abrasions to the side panel label. Hinge to the lid has been reinforced. Although we have handled two other early Wagner related cigar boxes, the offered example is the first of its type that we have encountered: EX
