Lot Number: 265

Description: Fine 1960 Warren Spahn Milwaukee Braves home jersey. Visually stunning cream color Braves home flannel shirt retains its original team name on front with tomahawk logo and #21. Back also retains its original red on black #21. "Spahn Set 2-1960" chain stitched in green on a strip tag inside the collar. Similar name/set tag repeats on a strip tag on tail front along with Wilson tagging. Shirt remains in original condition with evident usage and retains its Braves patch on the left sleeve. Lot also includes a pair of matching Braves pants with Wilson tagging and "3" written in period black marker on the back of the waistband. Matching socks attributed to Spahn are also included with one having "2" and the other having "1" chain stitched into the base. Although the pants have the number 3 written in the back it is very likely that Spahn may have worn these as well since they originated directly from Spahn. Spahn is regarded by many to be the greatest left hand pitcher in Major League history winning 363 games in his career with thirteen 20+ win seasons. Based on provenance, condition, style, and appearance the offered Spahn jersey ranks among the very finest extant. Includes letter of provenance from the family and LOA from SCD Authentic: Jersey: EX-MT, Pants: VG-EX, Socks: EX
