Description: 1887 World Championship Series program. Extraordinarily scarce foldout program issued for the 1887 World Championship games between the American Association Champion St. Louis Browns and the National League Champion Detroit Wolverines. The program features beautiful lithography front and back covers depicting the two teams and their players in vignette format. Interior has printed line ups of both teams incl. Comiskey, Welsh, Carruthers, Richardson, Thompson, Bennett, and Hanlon. Issued for Game #8 played in Boston which Detroit won behind two home runs by Sam Thompson by a score of 9-2. The Series would be decided just three days later in Game #11 played in Baltimore as the Wolverines captured the World Championship. Program itself has some professional restoration to the spine and some creasing at qurter fold lines. Images and overall eye appeal remains very strong. One of only a handful of documented 1887 World Championship programs from Detroit's inaugural baseball championship season: VG-EX (With note to creasing/spine)
