Description: 1909 World Series game used baseball. Toned red and blue stitched National League baseball inscribed as being used in Game #2 of the 1909 World Series played in Pittsburgh on Oct. 8, 1909. Ball has been inscribed as such and is signed by numerous members of the Pirates and Tigers many of which have faded from aging. Visible signatures include Donie Bush and Chas. O'Leary. "World Series", "Pitt. vs. Detroit Oct. 8, 1909", and "To My Friend..." notations are clearly legible. Ball was obtained in 1926 from the travelling secretary of the Pittsburgh Pirates who had befriended the head cashier of the Sinton Hotel in Cincinnati at which the baseball teams used to stay during the season. The ball includes a letter of provenance from the nephew of the hotel cashier. Rare game used ball from a classic early 20th century World Series: VG
