Description: Rare Ted Williams professional model baseball bat signed by Williams in the period c.1953-1954. L.Slugger 125 model bat measures an impressive 37 3/4" long and weighs nearly 42oz. Model number W166 is stamped on knob end and barrel retains bold centerbrand and facs. signature stampings. Signed on the barrel in green ink, "To Sherman one of the best friends I have Ted Williams." in green ink. Sherman was the Red Sox announcer. Signature has a slight smudge in the "T" in Ted. Date of "10/25/1954" has also been penned in green ink possibly by Williams but unclear. Bat is uncracked with evident usage to the barrel area. Period signed Williams game bats are notably rare and the offered bat is the largest bat ever ordered by Ted Williams according to Hillerich & Bradsby Co. factory records.
