Description: Fine 1929 "Safe" figural baseball trophy. Ornate and stylish silverplated trophy titled "Safe" featuring a runner sliding in the manner of Ty Cobb. Overall size is 12" long by 13" tall retaining its original painted wooden base having four columnar corner supports flanking four faux tortoiseshell side panels. Made by renowned metalwork shop of Dieges & Clust with metal identification tag remaining attached to the back of the base. Engraved silverplated placard on front reads, "Championship Trophy Press Morning League 1929". Wooden base has some typical age wear including a few surface scratches, figural player and platform remain remarkably clean with only some light general wear.
