Description: Fine Mickey Mantle professional model baseball bat c.1963. L.Slugger 125 model bat measures 35" long and weighs 32oz. Model number B220 stamped on knob end with bold centerbrand and Mantle facs. signature stampings on barrel. Bat remains uncracked with nice usage wear evident including ball markings on the barrel. Includes a wonderfully detailed letter of provenance from Mantle's former teammate Bobby Richardson who states that the bat was given (along with another Mantle bat) to a friend of Richardson's by Mantle after a request from Richardson. Richardson notes that his friend was known in the Yankee clubhouse and was presented two bats by Mantle. Uncommonly well sourced example of a rare and desirable Mantle game bat. Includes LOA from SCD Authentic D.Bushing/D.Knoll and two page hand written letter of provenance by/signed by Bobby Richardson: EX
