Description: Rare Spalding Catcher figural baseball trophy c. 1915-20. One of the most desirable from the set noted for its' detail and craftsmanship. Catcher in full gear kneeling on top of a large ball with Spalding logo, has some light surface scratches but retains fine unpolished patina. Wooden base is a reproduction of the original executed to exact measurements. Opportunity to acquire a very rare trophy at an appropriate pricing level given the base replacement. This trophy was sold in our February 1999 auction and payment was not received from an unscrupulous bidder and is being re-offered: EX-MT (With note to base replacement)
