Description: Rare Lou Gehrig single signed baseball c.1927-31. Moderately toned Barnard AL ball signed on a side panel, "To Bill Grace with kindest regards Lou Gehrig" in black fountain pen. Salutation and signature rate 7/8 out of 10. Ball itself has some age spotting on two panels and under the Gehrig signature has some remnants of a removed green ink notation or signature that continued onto the sweet spot. Unclear as to whether it was another autograph, date, or period notation regarding the recipient. Gehrig single signed baseballs of quality are very scarce with note to the fact that this example was signed during the prime Yankee dynasty years.
