Led by the hitting of Hank Aaron and the pitching of Warren Spahn and Lou Burdette the Braves overcame the Yankees in seven hard-fought games in the 1957 World Series. Burdette became the first pitcher since Stan Coveleski in 1920 to win three complete game victories in a World Series.
