Description: Classic New York Special Event auto. baseball from the Mel Allen Estate c.1950's. It's difficult to identify the event where this gorgeous ball was signed but two things are readily apparent: (1) it was in New York, and probably at Yankee Stadium; and (2) it was very significant, judging by the stature of the attendees (which included the Presidents of both leagues). The offered item is lightly toned Harridge Official American League ball with 25 perfect blue ballpoint signatures, including Rogers Hornsby, Frank ("Home Run") Baker, Joe DiMaggio, Casey Stengel, Waite Hoyt, Frank Frisch, Lefty Gomez, Phil Rizzuto, Johnny Mize, Warren Giles, William Harridge, Dan Topping (Yankees owner), Bill McKechnie, Gabby Hartnett, Paul Waner, Bill Dickey, and more.
