Description: Scarce 1912 World Series press badge. Ornate brass pinback bar having intaglio decor on border from which is suspended a yellow, green, and red silk ribbon with "Polo Grounds" on front. Original silver inlaid enameled medallion reads "World Series 1912" with fanciful garniture around the borders. Marked Whitehead & Hoag on reverse, 5" total length. Pin is believed to have been a very limited production press pin for the World Series and is the only example that is known to exist. Retains orig. unpolished original patina: EX
