Description: 1903 World Series game used baseball with signature attributed to Mike "Nuf Ced" McGreevey. Period lightly toned official baseball with notations denoting usage in the fifth game played in World Series history on October 7, 1903 in Pittsburgh. Notations on panels are as follows: Panel #1-"World's Series 1903 Last Out"; Panel #2-"11-2 Boston vs. Pittsburgh 1903 out at World's Series Boston"; Panel #3-"Young Pitcher-Boston ?"; Panel #4-"Compliments (either Nuf Ced or Mike but is faded) McGreevey Royal Rooter Nuf Ced". McGreevey is one of Boston's men of legend who was the owner and bartender of M.T. McGreevey & Co, Importers or what was better known to fans as the Third Base Saloon because it was the last stop on the ways home after the game. McGreevey became the leader of the "Royal Rooters" fan club who cheered for their Boston Pilgrims at every home game. Included with the ball is a cabinet photograph of McGreevey in his Nuf Ced Boston uniform while at Spring Training with the team in 1906 and (2) telegrams from Boston's Jimmy Collins to Hughie Jennings. Offered ball represents not only an intriguing Boston related artifact but a game used ball of large significance due to its' use in the inaugural World Series of 1903.
