Description: Babe Ruth single signed baseball. Clear coated cream color Wilson Western League ball boldly signed by Babe Ruth on the sweet spot. Signature remains very dark and rates 9 out of 10, ball has some lt. toning from age but has no usage wear. Handwritten date of "1940" is notated to the right of signature, consigned directly from the family of the original recipient. Signature and date (not written by Ruth) have some unusual areas of darkness which appear to either be partially enhanced in the period or are the result of unusual ink flow. Period clear coating remains on top of signature. Very fine fresh example of a classic signed baseball, includes LOA from James Spence PSA/DNA: Ball: EX, Signature: NM
