Photographic postcard showing the scene as civilians line a street to watch the French Army march into Metz during World War I. A handwritten note on the back reads, "The French Army of occupation marching into Metz, one of the most strongly fortified cities in the world. The American flag shown in the picture was hastily made and had 8 stars sewed on one side, Christy." The handwriting and signature have been graded NM-MT 8 by PSA. Hint of light toning and wear.
