Description: 1925 Christy Mathewson "Disabled American Veterans of The World War" membership card. Heavy stock 2.25"x3.75" membership card has the "Christy Mathewson" written along the top above "Is A Member of The Disabled American Veterans of The World War, In Good Standing…" text. "Saranac Lake" is stamped in "Chapter" line along with the date "Jul 1 - 1925." Mathewson had moved to Saranac Lake in 1920 to seek a cure for tuberculosis after his return from World War I. He spent the majority of the rest of life as a resident and would pass away there in April of 1925. Chips to opposite corners (the lower left is included although not attached) and there is some additional creasing and wear.
