Description: Christy Mathewson's January 1919 Hotel Continental bill from Paris with related material. January 18, 1919 date stamped bill provided by the "Hotel Continental…Paris" detailing charges for a (3) day stay with the name "Monsiuer Christy Mackwson" (sic) handwritten along the top. Mathewson was at the tail end of his time in France having completed his World War I service and was likely resting up for a few days before his return to the United States. Several additional pieces related to his time in France include (10) postcards showing views around the Country incl. Heudicourt, Nancy, and Chinon; a large map of France with related newspaper advertisement which appears to promote the sale of this particular brand/type of map; and a small publication page which shows the Basilica of Saint Epvre. Varying degrees/types of wear throughout (with the map most notably effected).
