Lot Number: 68

Description: December 27, 1992 Anthony Muñoz autographed and "last game" inscribed professional model shoulder pads with equipment bag and related pieces. Pair of Rawlings model CP66-XL shoulder pads have been autographed and inscribed "Anthony Muñoz, HOF 98, Last Game 12/27/92" (black marker, 7/8 out of 10). Considerable use is evident throughout including scuffs/scrapes and there is a crack to the plastic on the right shoulder side. The game capped a (13) year career with the Cincinnati Bengals during which Muñoz established himself as one of the greatest offensive lineman in NFL history. Shoulder pads are among the more seldom offered pieces of game equipment and are notably scarce with such a direct chain of provenance. That they were worn in the final game of a Hall of Fame career adds to the significance of the offered pair. Also includes Muñoz's personal equipment bag which has "Bengals" team name block lettered on either side and his number (78) visible through a small window (36" long) along with additional equipment pieces found inside including Bengals t-shirt with sleeves removed and matching shorts (both by Champion); ankle brace with "78" written on in marker; pair of knee pad inserts (one with "78" written on); and a black wristband. Varying degrees/types of wear throughout. Includes auction LOA from JSA, LOA from Hunt Auctions, and letter of provenance from Anthony Muñoz: EX
