Description: Football related ephemera from the Unitas Collection with autographed check. Includes 2000 dated check made out to "N.F.L.Pa" (NFL Players Association) and signed "John C Unitas" (ink, 8 out of 10); original news service printout dated 01/22/73 stating that Johnny Unitas had been traded from the Colts to the Chargers; (2) programs from the 1979 Hall of Fame game in Canton; regular season Colts game programs from 12/3/72 and (2) 10/9/77 (one has cover completely separated); Chargers programs from 09/23/73 and 10/21/73; Falcons vs. Packers program from 12/15/74; Kolor View Press Unitas picture and stat card; 2/21/76 dated letter on White House stationary from the Staff Assistant to the President thanking Unitas for his hospitality during a stay in Orlando; typed statement regarding Unitas which has "Weeb Ewbank" written in ink at the bottom. Presumably this a testimonial written for Unitas or may have been notes for a spoken statement; and (8) 1973 telegrams/mailgrams offering congratulations to Unitas on a day he was honored at Pimlico Race Track. One if from Don Shula. Also includes (2) different 8"x10" photos of Unitas taken that day. Varying degrees/types of wear throughout (with programs most notably effected). Includes auction LOA from JSA and letter of provenance from the Unitas Family: GD-EX
