Description: 1956 Johnny Unitas "Outstanding Catholic Athlete" plaque. Presentational plaque (10"x12") has an engraved metal plate on the bottom which reads "St. Lo Post - 1717, Catholic War Veterans To John Unitas, Outstanding Catholic Athlete of 1956." Mounted above is a relief of several players in action along with a floral decoration and "CWV" (Catholic War Veterans" logo enameled cross. "Balfour" mark on the back. Unitas was then in his Rookie season with the Colts and would become their full-time starter the following year. Mild general wear with a few nicks and scrapes.
