Description: Very rare 1917 Jimmy Walsh Boston Red Sox professional model road jersey (SGC/Grob: Superior). Very heavy gauge grey flannel pinstriped jersey retaining its original "Red Sox" lettering across the front. Proper Wright & Ditson manufacturer's label affixed inside the collar area. General light to moderate wear including appropriate light 'bleeding' to the "Red Sox" lettering more visible on the interior of the shirt. Walsh enjoyed a prolific career in the International League batting over .300 ten times in 1,800 game. His then played for the Philadelphia Athletics and Boston Red Sox. Pre 1920s era Major League uniform pieces are among the most coveted and scarcely offered items of any sports memorabilia category.
