Description: Rare Original Mercury Astronauts autographed baseball (PSA/DNA 7.5 NM+). Cream color Giles NL baseball signed by four of the original Mercury astronauts: Gus Grisson (d.1967), Alan Shepard (d.1998), Wally Schira (d.2007), and Scott Carpenter (d.2013). Signatures present very nicely ranging from 7-9 out of 10 with the ball itself remaining unused having only a few minimal surface blemishes. Notably rare signature baseball with relation to the Project Mercury spaceflight program (first manned flight program) from 1959-63. Grissom is particularly notable in that he tragically died during the Apollo I training mission in 1967.
