Description: Rare Reach baseball glove tin advertising sign c.1910-15. Lithographed tin sign has raised "The Reach" titling at top along with a "Reach Special" glove illustration on the left side and fielding player on the right. Text relates to the "First Basemen's Mitts" it was issued to promote touting them as "...the kind the Big Leaguers use..." Printed instructions on the back note the great expense to which the company went to produce the sign and asks the retailer that it be displayed prominently. Marked "A.J. Reach Company...The American Art Works" below. The piece measures just over 6"x13" and displays beautifully with strong and bold color. Housed in 9.75"x16.75" frame (glass on both sides to allow for statement on back to be seen) with light visible wear including some minor scattered nicks and scratches.
