Description: Highest scoring game in NFL history - November 27, 1966 Washington vs. New York – attributed game used football with outstanding provenance. Wilson Pete Rozelle "The Duke" Official NFL Football has a handwritten notation done in period marker which reads "November 27, 1966 Washington VS Giants, Ricky Harris." Harris was a member of the Washington Redskins and scored a fourth quarter touchdown on a (52) yard punt return. After scoring the touchdown Harris then threw the ball into the stands where it was retrieved by the Nick Calabrese who was in attendance of the game. Incredibly, he and his wife Ann can be seen in game footage from that day (the wife more readily identifiable as she was wearing a white hat) as the camera follows the ball into the stands. A copy of a 1966 photo (developed date of 1967 in margin) shows Ann Calabrese wearing the very same white hat as viewed in the video. CLICK ON THIS LINK TO LISTEN TO THE AUDIO AND SEE THE VIDEO. It has remained within the Calabrese family until now and it being offered for the first time. Washington won the game 72-41 and the (113) total points rank as the highest scoring football game in NFL history. The ball displays appropriate use with some scattered soiling (and a touch of air loss) and the "BB" date code below inflation stampings matches other game balls which are attributed to use during the 1966 season. One of the more interesting vintage NFL game attributed footballs we have handled with outstanding first hand provenance. Includes letter of provenance from Nick and Ann Calabrese along with copy of image of both taken in 1966 : EX
