Description: April 22, 1891 New York Giants Opening Game at Polo Grounds III invitation. Rare original approx. 5"x7.5" paper stock invitation issued for the first National League game played at Polo Grounds III. The Giants squared off against the Boston Beaneaters. It was a pitchers duel with Amos Rusie on the mound for New York and John Clarkson throwing for Boston. The Beaneaters would ultimately prevail. Ornate National Exhibition Company logo appears at the top with text below touting the "Opening of the League Championship Season..."
