Description: Fine 2008 Tommy Heinsohn Boston Celtics NBC Championship ring. Lead by defensive player of the year Kevin Garnett the 2008 Boston Celtics finished with a 66-16 record, the third best in Franchise history. It has been hailed as "the most dramatic NBA turnaround ever" after the team compiled just (24) wins the season before. It was their first NBA Finals appearance since 1987 and after a grueling (26) game post-season they would claim the 17th NBA Championship in Celtics history. Tommy Heinsohn had played on or coached (10) of those previous Championship teams and cemented his legacy in Boston becoming one of the best known broadcasters in a city that deeply cherishes their sports teams. It was surely an honor for him to be in the broadcast booth for the 2008 Finals for both he and the people of Boston. An emerald accented Shamrock team logo adorns the face set in a bed of small diamonds with an additional two rows of diamonds accenting the left and right edges. "World Champions" is lettered at the top and bottom. The name "Heinsohn" is atop one shank with the number "17" at bottom representing the (17) Championships won by the Celtics. In the middle are the team logo, NBA logo, and a rendering of the Larry O'Brien Trophy. Opposite side reads "Banner 17 2008 66-16 UBUNTU" with an enameled likeness of Lucky the Leprechaun. A facsimile signature of Red Auerbach is inside along with "Balfour" and "14K" markings. Size (13) and weighs (52) grams with no mentionable wear. Includes original wooden presentation style box that has Heinsohn's name engraved in the glass top (missing interior pad), his original 2008 NBA Finals media credential/pass, and letter of provenance from the Heinsohn Family: NM
