Description: Exceptional Bill Russell Boston Celtics professional model jersey c.1958 (Resolution Photomatch). White durene jersey retaining it's original "Celtics" team name in green above "6" across the front with matching green "6" on the back. The shirt retains its original "Horace Partridge Athletic Goods" manufacturer's label inside the tail area with size 44 indicator. Outstanding evident use and wash wear presents throughout the jersey while remaining in beautiful conditon with vibrant original color to the numbers, lettering, and piping. The jersey was originally obtained around 1960 by a Boston area resident who obtained the offered Russell jersey along with ten or so other Celtics jerseys of the period and has retained possession until its current offering. Through photographic comparison the shirt was linked to two separate images dated 1958 and 1957-58 respectively. Resolution Photomatch has assigned designations of "Likely" and "Possible" to the two matches both of which compare very favorably to the offered jersey including several very distinct characteristics. Most notably the specific spacing around the "T" in Celtics presents with unique traits that match the presented images. The documented population of Bill Russell game jerseys of note is notably ellite with this particular jersey noted as one of the earliest known dating to Russell's second full season in the NBA. The jersey is being offered for the first time publicly directly by the original recipient. Superb investment grade jersey from one of the most significant players in NBA history.
