Description: April 30, 1890 Philadelphia Athletics Inaugural Player's League home game (vs. Boston Reds) invitation. Baseball shaped heavy stock invitation printed on both sides allowing the bearer access to the Athletics (also known as the Quakers at this time) vs. Reds game played at Forepaugh's Park. It was the first Player's League game played in Philadelphia and the Reds won (9-6). Beautifully done with an illustration of the ballpark on front and text mentioning the "Championship Series" on back. Wear includes chipping/loss along the lower edge and some tears/punctures to the left. Notably rare piece from this short lived League which lasted just one season and the first we have seen: FR/GD
