Description: Rare Horace Partridge & Co. "Executioner" style football helmet c.1920s. Highly desirable and scarce style of football helmet is among the most sought after of any vintage football equipment items. Brown leather dog ear helmet retains its original production leather Executioner style faceguard with adjustable sizing attachment holes. Vestiges of some period ink decor and possible dating/initials are faintly visible on the nose area of the helmet front. Horace Partridge & Co. manufacturer's stamp found at the back of the head area. This extremely scarce style of helmet was briefly utilized by players of the late 1920s and early 1930s in an effort to better protect the face area. The idea and model type, was short lived as the helmet was uncomfortable and hot. Original scarcity accounts for the very short supply in today's marketplace.
