Description: Dartmouth football team photograph with Matthew Bullock c.1902. Important sepia toned large format photograph (10.5"x10.5" on 18"x14" period mount) showing uniformed team members including Matthew Bullock. Bullock was the first African American to play at the storied College and made National headlines at the time for both his success and some of the events which surrounded his time with the team. A small "1902" pencil notation at lower front notes the year and a game ball being held by one player reads "Dartmouth 12 Brown 6" which reflects the final game played that season.
