Description: Unique "Night Baseball" related ticket stub display. Matted and framed display containing six tickets with relation to night baseball and the use of lights to include:1) May 24, 1935 First Night Baseball game ticket stub. Issued for game played between the Reds and Phillies in Cincinnati for the first Major League game to be played at night. President Roosevelt "threw the switch" from Washington to turn on the lights. Very clean front with minimal surface wear and crisp registration: EX-MT; 2) 1943 MLB All-Star Game ticket stub as issued for the game played at Shibe Park in Phila. using lights for the first time: EX; 3) 1949 World Series ticket at Brooklyn for Game #5 in which they had to turn on the lights due to darkness: EX; 4) 1971 World Series Game #4 ticket stub for 1st WS game played at night: EX; 5) and 6) Two ticket stubs for the Aug. 8th and 9th Cubs games at Wrigley Field for the first night game (first date was rain out): EX-EX/MT. Matted and framed to overall display size of 16"x22" with image from first night game.
