Original Western Union telegram as sent to the Detroit Baseball Club from a sportswriter which reads, in part, "Judge Landis says there are no bars to Negroes in baseball. Does your Club agree?" Poignant and unsettling content illustrating the stubborn practices of racism within the game of baseball that would linger for another 5 years until Jackie Robinson broke the color barrier.
