Description: Outstanding 1996 Derek Jeter autographed Rookie season professional model baseball bat (PSA "GU 9"). Louisville Slugger 125 model P72 bat with Jeter facsimile signature in the barrel measures 33.5" long and weighs 30.8oz. Uncracked with very nice evident use including deeply embedded stitch and contact marks on the hitting surface. In addition there are several blue ink transfers (from ball stampings), some cleat marks, and a light coat of mota stick (applied for grip) on the handle. Signed "Derek Jeter" in silver marker rating 9-9/10 out of 10. The bat was originally sourced from noted expert John Taube in 1996 and it was then signed in January of 1997 (all relayed in the included PSA/DNA LOA). In his first full season with the Yankees Derek Jeter hit (.314) and was unanimously named the American League Rookie of The Year. He would go on to become the face of the Franchise and lead the team through some of their most productive and successful years. A museum quality example and one of only a few game bats which can be definitively dated to his Rookie season.
