Description:George Selkirk New York Yankees professional model hat c.1930s. Classic style done in deep blue with white embroidered "NY" logo on the front and a slightly smaller than customary brim. "Spalding" tag remains on the interior leather band which is embroidered "7 G Selkirk" denoting size and player. Exceptionally well preserved with light evident use and a touch of age/storage related wear. Selkirk had the unenviable job of replacing Babe Ruth as the Yankees right fielder in 1935 and he would stay on with the club until 1942. While with the team they won (5) World Series titles.
