Lot Number: 155

Description: 1881 Harry Wright autographed scorecard. Paper stock 4"x6" scorecard has been filled out on both front and back reflecting the events of the August 23, 1881 Boston Red Stockings vs. Worcester Ruby Legs game played at the Agricultural County Fair Grounds. It has been signed "Harry Wright" in the scorer section and both the autograph and additional handwriting rate 8-8/9 out of 10. The game was won by Boston 8-6 (interestingly the score is noted as 8-4 in some accounts) and their lineup for the day included Ross Barnes, John Morrill, and Ezra Sutton. The piece is framed to 11.75"x14.25" for display with glass on both sides to allow for viewing of both front and back. Touch of light visible wear. Wright ranks among baseballs' most important historical figures and substantial autographed material is seldom offered. Includes framed Wright Perez-Steele postcard (to display with the scorecard) and full LOA from JSA: EX-NM
