Description: Rare 1940 Gum, Inc. "Superman" complete set (72 cards). One of the most desirable non-sports issues of the 20th Century and rarely offered in complete form due to the scarcity of cards in the high number series. Key card #1 Superman has been graded by SGC (2.5 GD+). Balance of the low numbers average VG-VG/EX and are generally crease/wrinkle free with just some light corner/edge wear. High numbers are relatively nice given their hard to find nature and fall in average VG condition range. There are two or three which are noticeably lesser (#53 has a heavy crease and #72 has heavier wear). The best condition card is (high number) #50 which has been SGC graded (5 EX): Avg.
