Description: Scarce Peck & Snyder baseball bat c.1870s. One of the most sought after and elusive 19th century baseball equipment items from the premier manufacturer of the era. Full size 36 3/4" bat featuring Peck & Snyder shield shaped manufacturer's stampings at the centerbrand area flanked by two sets of dual ring decoration. The bat retains a wonderful period finish with excellent patination and bold trademark stampings. Back of the handle area has some cracking and the back of the barrel exhibits some age fissures (not cracking from use).
