Description: 1912 L1 Helmar Leathers #119 Chief Bender. Desirable oversized (approx. 10"x14") leather premium issued by Helmar in exchange for coupons packaged with their "Turkish Trophies" line of tobacco products. The coupons could be exchanged for a T3 Cabinet Card (10-15 coupons), S81 Silk (20-25 coupons), or an L1 Leather (35-50 coupons). This trio of premiums are among the most sought after tobacco related issues in the hobby and the L1 Leathers are by far the rarest. Crisp and bold image of Bender appears on leather which has some light toning and mild scattered wear including a small indentation just to the left of his head and a spot of discoloration to the far right.
