Description: Rare 1969 New Orleans Saints/Richmond Roadrunners professional model helmet. Riddell Kra-Lite model helmet having black painted body with gold and white striping. Classic Saints Fleur de Lis symbols in gold on each side. Interior padding remains intact with "20" written on period linen tape affixed to one side. Overall use is outstanding with impact marks and general wear retaining a fine vintage patina. Early Saints helmet style that was use for the 1969 pre season and then sent to the ACFL affiliate Roadrunners team after the NFL forbid the Saints to permanently switch to the unique black helmet style.
