Description: October 25, 1873 Rutgers vs. Yale "Foot Ball Match" program - one of the earliest known. Rare program issued for the game played at Hamilton Park during one of the first seasons of organized collegiate football is one of only a few known surviving examples. Single foldover page (4.25"x5.75" when closed) has game date, participants, and details noted on front cover, rosters of each team inside, and a partially filled in scoring sheet on the back. The piece was at one time mounted in an album and has a resulting strip of paper along the right edge on back. There is some loss to both covers near the bottom corner (likely the result of removal from album) and other light general toning and wear: GDEstimated Price Range: ($2,000-$4,000)
