Description: Paul Hornung Heisman Trophy Award commemorative ring. 14K gold ring as worn by Hornung in commemoration of his selection as the 1956 Heisman Trophy Award recipient. Top of the ring features small gold figural of Heisman award rendering surrounded by ten diamonds totaling .80 carat weight. "Heisman Memorial Trophy" lettering encircling the top. One side panel displays "Hornung" above image of the trophy with other side panel having Downtown Athletic Club insignia and founding date. Unmarked on interior band with ring appearing to have been resized at some juncture. Evident use throughout including typical surface wear. One of several examples of this ring that Hornung made/possessed including several replicas with the offered example being one that he personally wore. Includes letter of provenance from Angela Hornung and signed 8"x10" photo of Hornung accepting his 1956 Heisman Trophy Award: VG-EXEstimated Price Range: ($10,000-$15,000)
