Lot Number: 405

Description: Rare Cleveland Municipal Stadium ticket window c.1930s. Substantial metal ticket window saw long time use in the famed Cleveland area venue and was presumably installed when it initially opened in 1931 and was removed when it closed. It is one of (24) which were offered as part of the 1996 auction of material from the Stadium which was sold to the public. To the best of our knowledge only one other shows record of having surfaced since. The body of the piece is 22.5" wide and stands 104" tall. Metal counter top surfaces on either side (to facilitate both customer and seller) are more modern upgrades/replacements and the interior counter has angled sides to allow for installation in the walk up enclosure in which it sat. Front has a white painted area with the number "38" stenciled in. General wear/rust throughout is consistent with long term use as intended. One of the more notable stadium related artifacts we have offered in some time. Includes several extra slats of metal with which is was originally offered (presumably pieces that were used to secure it in place) and a copy of the original auction catalog listing: EX
