Lot Number: 209

Description: May 24, 1935 Cincinnati Reds first MLB night game scorecard. Desirable original scorecard from the Reds vs. Phillies game which is attributed to the first game in Major League history that teams had played at night. Game related detail has been written on the front cover in pencil and the interior is very neatly scored. Light general handling wear with a very faint vertical fold approx. 1" in from the bound edge. Please note: it has been brought to our attention that an advertisement, referencing the first night game, which is printed inside on page (16) varies from those found in some of the other documented examples of this scorecard. While worth noting, we are confident that this anomaly does not preclude the scorecard from having been issued for this specific game however it is possible that it was a holdover from the Reds vs. Phillies game played the day before: VG-EX
