Powerful and moving black and white image showing the Iron Horse tearfully bidding the fans at Yankee Stadium goodbye after his retirement from the game of baseball due to his illness. Dignitaries are visible in the background including his long time teammate Babe Ruth standing at far left. Front displays fine contrast with some typical vertical surface crazing lines/wrinkles and is stamped on the back by International News Service retaining its original paper i.d. label.
