Description: Rare 1881 "Base-Ball At Blackville" trade card. Oversized (4.75"x6.25") trade card featuring a well known racially insensitive depiction of an African American baseball game progress. Issued by Clarence Brooks & Co. with advertising for their product line in the lower portion beside a June 1881 calendar. Wear primarily effects the upper right which has several creases (and possibly a separation of the corner) that are reinforced from behind with clear tape. Just below is a small .25" tear.
